One's illness, problems and misfortunes are the direct result of their inner state and imperfect soul. They must be helped, but the aid must be the right kind. Firstly, we must help their soul, help to form their character, their conception [of the world, God, karma, divine laws etc.], and, later, help their body.

The ideas and truth expressed above were also known in antiquity and shared with some lucky few. Plato says in the "Charmides" dialogue that Zalmoxis was not only viewed as an incarnated god by his people, but he was also a great medic that treated the mind as part of healing the whole human being, not only the body, like the Greek medics did: that in order to heal one's body, we must take care of their soul first.
